HOTEL BROADWAY

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA

Nestled within the historic fabric of LA’s Theatre District, Hotel Broadway, located at 445 S Broadway, is an urban infill project that naturally exposes the main façade out onto the lively street of Broadway. Taking hues from the dramatic and vibrant colors of the surrounding theaters, the façade takes on its own dramatic feel with vertical louvers bending in form; “Peeling back the curtain” to present building entrances, or celebrate the building’s own blade sign; again paying respect to where the building fits within the neighborhood.

Abutting next to the property from the South, The Metropolitan Lofts Building provides the framework for the building structure; extending subtle hues of context and continuity across buildings. The dramatic louvered façade is a dichotomy between historic and modern; theatre and hotel. Drawing influences from many different platforms, 445 S Broadway respects the urban fabric in which surrounds it while establishing it’s own identity among the Los Angeles Broadway Corridor.
